This page is a snapshot of my current activities, obsessions, media consumption, and other things I’m currently doing. It’s like a living status update.

Building

• I’m finally working on this website. Fifteen years ago I decided I wanted to blog, but it never led to anything. And all it took to get started was for a friend to mention he was working on his own site.

Tech

• After constantly running into low disk space issues on my NAS, I finally ordered the last parts needed for my custom NAS build. I eventually decided to drop traditional RAID in favor of a MergerFS + SnapRAID setup.

Entertainment

• For the past couple of months I’ve been deep-diving through the archives at Angry Metal Guy, unearthing many interesting albums. Including:

• My PS5 had been fast asleep for the last month and a half or so, but it was woken from its deep slumber last week. I’ve been playing a bit of Hades and am having a lot of fun running the new Warlock class in Diablo IV

• I don’t watch many TV shows, most don’t appeal to me. But after watching IT: Welcome to Derry (2025), FROM (2022) ended up in my “Recommended” list. I was hooked from the first episode, and binged all three seasons. Now that season four has finally dropped, I’m very excited to see what mysteries will be unraveled.

• For the past couple of months I’ve steadily been ticking off some items from my anime watchlist.

  • I started off by watching Dororo (2019), which was highly recommended to me by a friend.
  • Next up was the first season of Dorohedoro (2020).
  • Together with my wife, I decided to start with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019), which has lived on my watchlist for way too long.
  • Last week I finally started watching Gungrave (2003).

Reading

• I’m currently reading Mythos by Stephen Fry. History and mythology are something I rather enjoy, but as is often the case, the books feel as dated as the story they try to tell. Stephen Fry, on the other hand, is someone whose way of storytelling and writing I very much enjoy, making these subjects even more entertaining.
